Christopher Tilghman is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Whiting Writers' Award, and the Ingram Merrill Foundation Award. ... His fiction has also appeared in the New Yorker and other publications and has been selected for The Best American Short Stories. Tilghman is a tenured professor and teaches writing and English at the University of Virginia. He lives with his wife, the novelist Caroline Preston and their three sons in Charlottesville, Virginia.
