Geoffrey Wawro is General Olinto Mark Barsanti Professor of Military History at the University of North Texas, and is Director of the UNT Military History Center. Wawro received his BA from Brown and his PhD from Yale University, and is the author of The Franco-Prussian War: The German Conquest of France in 1870-71, Warfare and Society in Europe 1792-1914, and The Austro-Prussian War: Austria's War with Prussia and Italy in 1866. He is currently writing Quicksand: America's Pursuit of Power in the Middle East from the Balfour Declaration to the Bush Doctrine. He is a member of the History Book Club Review Board and is North American Editor of the Cambridge Military Histories. Geoff Wawro also hosts History's Business and History in Focus on The History Channel.
