Americans love to vote—if we're voting for American Idol. Viewers cast 74 million votes in the 2007 finale of American Idol. That's way more votes than any president got. So why don't we bother to vote in elections? Because out votes won't be counted fairly or some judge will throw them out. And because once politicians get elected, they don't try to fix the mess our country is in. What if we could vote directly on issues like abortion, Iraq, immigration, guns, same-sex marriage? What if we could fix our country ourselves?
