Short biography
Mary Wollstonecraft was ahead of her time in her influential writing and analysis on the status of women in late 18th century society. Her earliest publication (1787) was on the education of daughters, but she went on to write about politics, history, moral theory, philosophy and foreign travel in reviews, translations, pamphlets, and novels. She is still greatly admired as an intellectual and early feminist.
