A delightful science read. I picked it up while in Sydney on holiday and whipped right through it. It's quite astonishing, the work that prompted it. If you're a nature reader, you'll enjoy it.

Reminiscent of The Coast, Woodford's book looks at the potential impact of climate change on the Australian coastline, more specifically the Great Barrier Reef as the name suggests. Woodford takes the angle of the regular punter trying to decipher fact from fiction.

Love how he talks about kangaroos and emus having the 'gait of a feral muppet' but I also find it interesting how little discussed the dog fence is.

I absolutely adored this book. Didn't think much when I picked it up other than 'cool, a book about australia' but I tore through it. Realise how big this country is by just how little you scratch the surface when here 11 months. The fence covers parts of three states yet Im barely going anywhere near it covers to do as a themed release. I know so little about the Dog Fence but I felt like I began to really know the characters.… (more)
