Alexis Wright is a member of the Waanyi Nation of the southern highlands of the Gulf of Carpentaria. Her novel, Carpentaria, won the Miles Franklin Literary Award in 2007.Her new novel, The Swan Book, will be published in August 2013. She is a Distinguished Research Fellow in the Writing and Society Research Group, University of Western Sydney.
Tony Birch is the author of the acclaimed novel, Blood (UQP 2011), shortlisted for this year’s Miles Franklin Award. He has also published widely as a short fiction writer. (rodneyvc)
