What else are you on?

UPDATE: New feature of this feature--it WORKS!

Your profile now allows you to add links to yourself on some 30 sites and services, from AIM and Yahoo Messenger to MySpace, Skype, BookCrossing, even the "LibraryThings for wine" Cork'd and Winelog. Your already-entered AIM, Yahoo and ICQ names have been put into the new, more flexible system.

You will see a control like this when you edit your profile:

And here's what it looks like on your profile.

I'm sure I missed some sites. As long as it has a user id-based URL, post it here and I'll add it.

heh. Two minutes ago I was looking at your profile, going "what's that Also in field, how did he get that there". Didn't get as far as going and checking if I could now do that in my profile before I found this!

OK, I added my delicious and livejournal ones, and they are there when i go back to edit, though I have to push more for each them to pop up, but they don't seem to be showing yet on my profile, only the AiM and yahoo that were already there.

I think I am only on one other site and that is boardgamegeek. Can that be added to the list?

I tried adding del.icio.us and last.fm but it won't show up on my profile, I even tried to simply replace "ICQ" with a different service but it just won't work.

Yay! Spam! :/

Probably people in the h2g2 group would like a link to their h2g2 ID

I'm having the same problem as Aquila - can't seem to add any extra ones in addition to the ICQ one that was originally there.

Love the idea though.

Hi - I'm on Metafilter and Wikipedia.

Sample user pages:

It would be great to have these added. Thank you.

it's not working for me, either. I add all the ones I want, hit save, go to my profile and nothing is there. I go back to edit and the information isn't saved there, either. It only shows the original two that I had on there.

I can't get the info to stick either. And could we please have MSN Messenger and Google Talk added to the list?

Mine isn't sticking either. I've tried it a few times now.

Could we have Writing.com added? The profile URLs are http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/user_id/imaginelove or more generally:

http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/user_id/{username}

LinkedIn uses email addresses as handle. Your field isn't long enough for my LinkedIn email address. Emails typically take up much more length than other "handles".

Nick - there's an option in your LinkedIn profile to set your LinkedIn URL. You can then use that in the "handle" field in your LibraryThing profile.

Hey! There's a tickbox for "receive State of the Thing" monthly e-mail" on the profile page!

With all the widget-creation and coding, who's got time to edit such a newsletter? ;)

I couldn't find a LibraryThing group on Last.fm, so I created one. Let me know if you prefer I use a different logo.

What about List of Bests? I've just started using it to keep track of the books I read each month and it would work well to be able to link there from LibraryThing

- Furl:

- GoogleTalk (I don't know if it has an URL based profile or content)

I'm not sure the paperbackswap links are working correctly. I've added by user name, but when I click the link, it doesn't show my bookshelf on that site.

I don't know if you can go straight to a shelf on PBS, but you can do directly to the user's profile page
(http://USERNAMEHERE.paperbackswap.com/)

The current link of (http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/members_books.php?m=USERNAMEHERE) doesn't work for me. Actually, it works, but it's not my books. :)

I also would like to request a link to my furl bookmarks. Not everybody uses de.licio.us !

In fact I chose furl over de.licio.us because of their bookmarklet's interface. It allows me to choose from a list of my previous "categories". Though I love the tags here, a fixed vocabulary there theoretically saves me the extra typing every time I bookmark something.

There are a couple of additional sites that have userid based profiles that could be relevant to LibraryThing profiles as well.

1) CoComments tracks blog comments and online conversations across different blogs, and postings.
http://www.cocomment.com/comments/userid

2) Wikipedia allows one to list her contributions, as long as they are made under the same id of course.
