Award description

The Ruth Schwartz Children’s Book Award includes two yearly prizes – one for a children’s picture book and one for a young adult book. Winning books are selected by juries of children from a public school in Ontario. The winning book must have been published in Canada during the previous year and the author must be a Canadian citizen. Since 2004, the award has been known as The Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children’s Book Award.
