Character description

Alexander (died 7 B.C.E.): One of two sons of Herod the Great by his Maccabean wife Mariamme. Herod, who was perpetually paranoid, suspected Alexander and his brother Aristobulus of treason, and so had them executed in 7 B.C.E.
