ANNE (1665-1714), Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, second daughter of James, Duke of York, afterwards James II., and of Anne Hyde, daughter of the 1st Earl of Clarendon. She died without an heir, the last monarch of the House of Stuart. She was succeeded by the Hanoverian George I.
