Anne I (1665–1714) was the younger of the 2 daughters of King James II of England and Anne Hyde. She joined with her sister Mary and brother-in-law William to help depose the king in 1688. Anne inherited the throne in 1702. She gave birth to 17 children, all of whom died as infants or children. Anne was the last monarch of the House of Stuart; she was succeeded by the Hanoverian George I.
