Character description

(Fictitious character) Sir Aubrey Tabor, born about 1790, is the present incumbent of a two-hundred-year old Baronetcy. His seat is Tabor Hall, Somerset. He prefers to remain a bachelor, but his mother is determined to see him married. Among his friends is Lord David Markham, second son of a marquess and rising Member of the House of Commons; and Ethan Brundy, base-born owner of a textile mill and one of the largest fortunes in England. Sir Aubrey helps Ethan pressure Lord David into introducing Brundy to Lady Helen Radney, who becomes the unlikely Mrs. Ethan Brundy.
