Character description

Basil Rathbone (1892–1967) was a British actor who rose to prominence as a Shakespearean stage actor and went on to appear in films, radio, TV, and spoken word recordings -- primarily costume dramas, swashbucklers, and, occasionally, horror films. But his most famous role was that of Sherlock Holmes.
