Character description

Blanche of Castile (1188–1252) was Queen Consort to King Louis VIII of France. She was a granddaughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine, who arranged the marriage. After her husband's death, Blanche acted as Regent and guardian of their children, including Louis, the future king and saint Louis IX.
