Character description

Jules Mazarin, born Giulio Raimondo Mazzarino (1602–1661), was a major French statesman and churchman of Italian origin. He was the protegee of Cardinal Richelieu, and after his death became chief minister of France. He was a close advisor to Queen Anne of Austria, the regent for her son Louis XIV during his minority.
