Character description

Catherine Monvoisin, also known as "La Voisin" (c. 1640–1680), was a key player in the famous Affair of the Poisons during the reign of King Louis XIV of France. She claimed the powers of sorcery and concoted love potions and poisons for her many wealthy clients.
