Character description

Dorothea or Dorothée von Biron, Princess of Courlande (1793-1862), known to history as the Duchess of Dino. In 1809, Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord, Prince de Talleyrand, arranged her marriage to his nephew Count Edmond de Périgord. Talleyrand took the alluring Dorothea with him to the Congress of Vienna in 1814, and it's believed that they became lovers. Talleyrand gave the duchy of Dino to his nephew and Dorothea became Duchess of Dino and later Duchess of Sagan. She had numerous children and is considered one of the grandmothers of European aristocracy.
