Character description

Elaine was the name of several different characters in Arthurian legends. The most frequent was Elaine of Astolat, also called Elaine the Fair or the Lily Maid of Astolat, a young woman who pines with unrequited love for Sir Lancelot. She's called The Lady of Shalott in Lord Alfred Tennyson's poem with this title.
