Character description

Elizabeth Woodville (1437–1492)'s first husband, Sir John Grey, was killed fighting for the Lancastrian side in the Wars of the Roses. However, around 1464, the young Yorkist King Edward IV married her in secret and she was crowned queen the following year. Elizabeth and her siblings benefited hugely from her new position and developed a reputation for ambition and greed. She and Edward had 10 children, including the two sons known to history as the ill-fated "Princes in the Tower."
