Ellen Terry (1847-1928) was a celebrated English actress most famous for her roles in the plays of Shakespeare. Her personal life involved an early failed marriage and other complications. She was also a close friend of Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll), and there has been some speculation about whether they were more than jsut friends.
