Character description

Françoise Giroud (1916-2003) was a pioneering French journalist, author, and politician. She co-founded the magazines Elle and L'Express in the 1940s-50s. Prime Minister Jacques Chirac created the post of Secretary of State for Women's Affairs for her in 1974; she then served as France's Minister of Culture.
