Character description

Frankie Silvers: Murderer and ballad character. In 1831, she murdered her husband Charles Silvers. She was executed in 1833. The ballad "Frankie Silvers" describes her story, and it is sometimes suspected that the song "Frankie and Albert," which gave rise to "Frankie and Johnnie," derives from the same incident.
