Geoffrey V, Count of Anjou (1113–1151), surnamed Plantagenet, was also Duke of Normandy by right of conquest. He married the widowed Empress Matilda, daughter and heiress of King Henry I of England, and fought for her inheritance. Their son later became King Henry II.
