Character description

Guillaume Le Gentil (1725–1792) was a French astronomer best known for his efforts to observe the transit of Venus. He also discovered what are now known as the Messier objects M32, M36 and M38, and was the first to catalogue the dark nebula sometimes known as Le Gentil 3 in the constellation Cygnus. He has been honored by the naming of Moon Crater Le Gentil.
