Henry VIII (28 June 1491 – 28 January 1547) was the second monarch of the Tudor dynasty and ascended the throne 21 April 1509. He is most famous and infamous for marrying six wives in search of personal happiness and a son. He executed two of his wives and divorced/annulled his marriages to two other. His second marriage, to Anne Boleyn, precipitated the epoch-making Reformation in England. He is various remembered as a strong king, and as a bloody-tyrant.
