Character description

1) In the Greek myth of Hero and Leander, Hero is a priestess of Aphrodite. He lover, Leandor, swims the Hellespont to see her, and one night drowns during a storm.

2) In Hawk Quest by Robert Lyndon, Hero is a Sicilian physician in training. He embarks on a mission with arrange for the ransom of a Norman knight held in Anatolia, but his master dies, and Hero persuades Vallon to assist him.

3) In Shakespeare's much ado about nothing, Hero is a prospective bride who is rejected by her groom on her wedding day after he is falsely led to believe that she is unchaste. The truth eventually outs.
