Character description

Heywood Hill (1906-1986) was the founder of the eponymous bookshop located at 10 Curzon Street, Mayfair, London. Nancy Mitford, who had worked there for a few months, and a small group of loyal helpers kept it going while Hill served in World War II. A literary prize was given in his name from 1995 to 2004.
