Character description

Isabella d'Este (1474–1539), one of the best educated and cultured ladies of the Italian Renaissance, was a patron of the arts and prominent political figure. She was married to Francesco Gonzaga, Marquis of Mantua, and ruled the city-state in his absence. Her younger sister was Beatrice d'Este.
