Character description

Jacquetta of Luxembourg (1415/1416–1472), daughter of the Count of St. Pol and a distant cousin of European royalty, married firstly John, Duke of Bedford, the English regent in France, in 1433. She continued to be known as Duchess of Bedford even after his death and her improbable re-marriage to Sir Richard Woodville. The couple had 14 children, including Elizabeth Woodville, queen consort of King Edward IV. Jacquetta was later accused of using witchcraft to bring about her daughter's queenship.
