Character description

James Madison Goodhue: Minnesota journalist, editor of the Minnesota Pioneer, considered the state's oldest newspaper. He founded the paper in 1849, initially publishing it on a hand press. Mary W. Berthel's Horns of Thunder is largely devoted to his work.
