Jehanne/Jeanne or Joan, known as the Demoiselle de Luxembourg (????-1430), was Countess of Saint-Pol and Countess of Ligny in her own right as the nearest heiress of Philippe I, Duke of Brabant. She was a godmother of King Charles VII of France, and the aunt of Jean II of Luxembourg, who captured Joan of Arc. The Demoiselle managed to protect Joan for a while, but after his aunt's death, Jean of Luxembourg sold Joan to the English. Her other nephew was Peter of Luxembourg, to whom the Demoiselle bequeathed her title of Saint-Pol; his daughter became Jacquetta, duchess of Bedford. For more, see H.N. Levitt's play "Joan."
