In The Serpents of Harbledown, from the Domesday Series Juliana is an unmarried, shrewish woman living in Faversham, Kent, England. She is the aunt of the murdered Bertha, being her mother's sister. Juliana is very fond of her niece, but not on speaking terms with her brother-in-law, Alwin the Sailor
