Character description

Louise Françoise de La Baume Le Blanc de La Vallière (1644-1710) was the lover of King Louis XIV of France, who made her a duchess in her own right. She had 6 children secretly with the king, but she was ashamed of their affair. In 1674, after the king became enamored of Madame de Montespan, Louise was allowed to retire from court and become a nun.
