Character description

Lucie Aubrac, née Bernard (1912-2007), was a French history teacher who became a leader of the French Resistance in World War II. In 1943, she planned and carried out the daring rescue of her husband Raymond Samuel and 15 others from the Nazis. Her wartime memoir was entitled in English Outwitting the Gestapo.
