People/Characters: Margaret Underhill

Wife of the Rector of Christ Church College, Oxford.  She and her husband they had two children, John and Sophia, who were both well-educated.   She and her husband were devastated by the death of young John in an accident, and now have little time for their daughter.  Margaret is deeply depressed and spends a lot of time in her chamber.
