Character description

Micheline Maurel (1916-2009), a literature teacher and poet, worked for the French Resistance in World War II. She was arrested by the Gestapo in 1943 and deported to Ravensbrück. She survived and wrote books that included Un camp très ordinaires (1957), one of the first memoirs of the concentration camp.
