Character description

Daughter of Sir Archibald and Lady Parr, and therefore niece of the governor of Jamaica, fiancée of Sir Andrew Graylin.  She and her mother join Sir Andrew and the Danvilles on the Destiny for the journey to London.   Blonde-haired and blue eyed, she is the image of propriety and decorum, and kept on a short leash.   Never allowed to leave the grounds of the governor's mansion in Jamaica, she somehow failed to enjoy her foreign travels.   She and her mother undertake to teach Teresa some of the basics of English manners during the voyage, and she gives Teresa some of her English-style gowns.   She is somewhat cowed by her mother, even after her marriage.
