Character description

Pedro the Cruel (1334?-1369): Son of Alfonso XI of Castile. King of Castile intermittently from 1350 to 1369. His behavior was so abominable that he was overthrown on behalf of his half-brother Henry of Trastámara. An expedition led by Edward the Black Prince, son of King Edward III of England, briefly restored him -- but Pedro was unable to restrain his viciousness. He was murdered in 1369 and replaced by Henry.
