Character description

Pheroras (died 5 B.C.E.): One of the three known brothers of Herod the Great, the others being Phasael and Joseph. All that we know about him comes from Josephus. He apparently served Herod well, but Herod, always suspicious, cast him from favor. Herod tried to make peace before Pheroras died, but the wound had gone too deep.
