Character description

Quintus Licinius Cato is a highly educated young slave in the Imperial household who is given his freedom if he agrees to join the army. Things to not look propitious when he joins the Second Legion, but Cato gains the respect of Centurion Lucius Cornelius Macro, and becomes his optio or orderly.
