Character description

Rachel Jackson, née Donelson (1767–1828) married Andrew Jackson, later 7th President of the USA, in 1791. The couple had believed she was divorced from her first husband, which turned out to be wrong, so they were remarried in 1794. However, the situation created a scandal that followed them the rest of their lives. Rachel died shortly before her husband took office.
