Character description

Tatiana von Metternich, née Wassiltschikow or Vassiltchikov (1915-2006), was born to a family of Russian aristocrats who fled the Bolshevik Revolution in 1919. Tatiana and her sister Marie spent the early years of World War II together in Germany. In 1941, she married Prince Paul von Metternich-Winneburg, great-grandson of the Austrian chancellor. She co-founded the Rheingau Music Festival and wrote several books, including her memoirs.
