Character description

In the Richard Pryor mystery series by Bernard Knight, Trevor Mitchell is a former detective superintendent turned private eye.    He meets Pryor when both are working on a case for a client of solicitor Edward Lethbridge, and develop great respect for one another.    Mitchell lives in St. Brievals in a cottage suitable for a chocolate box, complete with roses growing around the door and a decor to match.    In 1955, he is just past 50, a large, powerfully built man with cropped gray hair, bulldog features, and a deep bass voice.
