Character description

Uriah Heep is one of two primary villains in the second half of David Copperfield. A low-class law clerk with high ambition, Uriah is repulsive because of his strange appearance and behavior and his repeated reminders that he is "umble". Driven largely by a hatred of David Copperfield, Uriah seeks to take over Wickfield's law business and marry Agnes Wickfield; however, Uriah's plans are stopped by Micawber and Traddles and is sent to prison.
