Ardalia: The Flames of the Immolated by Alan Spade

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by Alan_Spade (author): I am Alan Spade, the author. Reviews on Amazon.com and Goodreads would be greatly appreciated. Review copies available on epub and mobi format. Enjoy!

Description: Flames were everywhere. Taller than a krongos, swift and dominant, they were dancing a bloody dance of chaos and madness. Just one step forward, and they would seize him in their deadly embrace, scorching his body and feasting upon his soul. Pelmen turned. The tongues of fire behind him drew back, outlining the path to salvation.
A new installment in the prehistoric world of Ardalia
Along the Great Rift, in the heart of the volcano Ixal, Valshhyk the Immolated is stirring. The creatures corrupted by his putrid fumes are growing in number daily. Within the fiery walls of Sinista, the amberrock swords, axes and lances of an army of outcasts gleam, waiting. The day is drawing near when the ties binding the dark god will collapse. Then, the nylevs will surge forward from the depths of the abyss.

Pelmen, Xuven, Teleg, Elisan-Finella and Lominan, the Messengers of Destiny, have an urgent mission. However, dissent soon rears its ugly head and they go their separate ways. Who among the Children of Aoles or Malia will succeed in warning the world of the danger it faces? When the time comes to confront the servants of the Sacred Fire, will the Breath of Aoles and the power of the Turquoise Water be enough to defeat them?
What readers are saying:
"I really enjoyed the two different perspectives and the two different main struggles that each group has to overcome. It was refreshing and full of a lot of good action and story development. The internal struggles were compounded with the insurmountable politics and allied conflict. Not only do they have to warn everyone but they have to revisit their past struggles and problems. They have to break through political and strategic barriers." —TM Borgwardt
"I really liked this book, it is a strong relevant second in the series. You get a look at the struggles of working together and overcoming diversity to secure a common goal." —CRB Amazon
"This story picks up where the first book "The Breath of Aoles" left off.
The writer continues to intrigue and leaves wanting more with this magic, fantasy and adventure series. I look forward to the 3rd book!" —Gene

When Colin Ashe digs up a box of childhood treasures buried in his front yard, he's drawn to the woman who put it there, twenty years before. Anna Brawne is a renowned cellist, recently engaged to her conductor, who wants only to put her family's past to bed. But with the loss of her mother, Anna makes a major break from the ambitious path carved out for her—a break that includes Colin Ashe.

The two connect online, where their physical distance guards an illusion of innocence, even as their revelations and longing grow. Colin reignites Anna’s passion for her art. But for the married Colin, desperate to preserve his young son’s faith in him, Anna Brawne could be his biggest mistake.

Sarabande is a powerful love story for our digital age, in which intimacy is easier than ever, but integrity remains a constant struggle. The paths of Anna and Colin will pull them toward Paris—and each other—but their fate is up to them.

A Marble Heart by Travis Gulbrandson

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by TravisGulbrandson (author): I am giving away 25 copies of my new novel, A Marble Heart, in the epub format in exchange for reviews. If you are not willing to provide a review, please do not enter.

Description: Forgotten today, Julia Anna Baker was notorious in the early part of the twentieth century for running a series of children’s homes. Mrs. Baker traveled the country proselytizing for and collecting money in the name of “home conserving.” The children who came under her care, however, were subject to filthy living conditions, insufficient food and, in some cases, physical abuse.

A Marble Heart brings the story of Mrs. Baker and her children to life. The novel is the culmination of approximately two years of research, and utilizes such real-world figures as Mrs. Baker herself, Kansas City politicians and a preacher who claimed to be the reincarnation of the prophet Elijah.

It is a story of greed, fraud, abuse, religion and ultimately, survival.

Keeping his personal demons under control and out of the tabloids is what Danny wants more than anything. Marnie is soon swept up into Danny’s world of prying paparazzi and vengeful exes. She can’t help the burning attraction between them, but she can’t trust Danny—or herself. And when Danny’s brother begins to pursue her, Marnie and Danny must both come to terms with the painful secrets that haunt them. They’re both broken…but maybe together they can be unbreakable.

(AUDIOBOOK) True Crime: Homicide & True Crime Stories of 2016 by Jack Rosewood

This is an audiobook.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by kekmaw (publisher): ***PLEASE NOTICE THAT THIS IS AN AUDTIOBOOK AND WILL BE SENT TO YOU VIA AUDIBLE***

Almost every year, we believe that nothing can top the abject horror of the last 12 months when it comes to true crime stories, homicides, execution-style murders or serial killers that are still on the prowl, leaving behind a trail of blood, tears and sorrow.

Then, of course, the New Year begins.

And so, too, begin the murders, bodies dumping beneath the snow, behind dumpsters in the worst parts of town, or left just where they fell, killed by a madman with a gun.

Unfortunately, terrible, barbaric things have happened since the beginning of time, when Medieval torture devices included the Iron Chair (a victim was forced to sit in a chair made of iron spikes, while restraints were tightened so the spikes would slowly, painfully penetrate the body) and the Pear of Anguish (device with four sections that stretched outward after the instrument was inserted into any orifice of a victim’s body – vagina, anus or mouth – and stretch, causing permanent damage, while the Catholic Inquisition gave us the rack, which essentially tore its victims limb from limb to elicit a confession. When one inevitably came, the broken confessor was set on fire for his or her crime. So why should we be surprised to learn a serial killer is stalking Alaska, shooting people in the dark at the city’s peaceful parks, while another makes his home in Phoenix, randomly shooting his victims, leaving residents looking over their shoulders with nervous anxiety wherever they might go.

People have been capable of terrible things since the beginning of time, and they seem in no hurry to put an end to their sadistic actions.

In more cases than we’d probably like to believe, our neighbors may not be who they seem, and you might look at them with a little more wariness after reading this true crime anthology, which delves deeply into some of the worst homicides, mass killings, hate crimes, spree killings and serial killings or serial killer captures across the nation in 2016.

These true murder stories will leave you feeling chilled to the bone, causing you to lock your doors at night against a potential intruder who may be at your door because he randomly saw your porch light, or because of a grudge that’s potentially gone one for years.

If you’re looking for a true murder book that gives you an intimate, in-depth look at some of the most gruesome, shocking and unreal true crime stories of 2016, this true crime anthology has got you covered.

You’ll be riveted by the tales of true murder, but they’re the sort to cause nightmares. You might not want to read it in the dark. The shadows could be hiding secrets.

Little do the villagers know that the worlds of magic surround them on all sides, and that the inhabitants of these worlds - monsters and mages, shadows and spirits, goblins and gods - have a tendency to fall through the gaps.

Book Description:
The Last of the Lascars: Yemeni Muslims in Britain, 1836-2012 charts the fascinating and little-known history of Britain’s oldest Muslim community. Originally arriving as imperial oriental sailors and later as postcolonial labour migrants, Yemeni Muslims have lived in British ports and industrial cities from the mid-nineteenth century, marrying local British wives, and established a network of ‘Arab-only’ boarding houses and cafes. They also founded Britain’s first mosques and religious communities in the early twentieth century, encountering racism, discrimination and even deportation in the process. Based on original research, this book brings together the unique story of a British Muslim community that stretches across 170 years of history from empire to modern multicultural Britain

(Winners must specify preferred eBook format.) All copies to be supplied by the author in hopes of obtaining fair online reviews.

Lehigh Carter returns to Mt Hood County in Oregon's Cascade Mountains, fighting crooked cops, greedy politicians and violent thugs as he searches for the true killer of popular Acting Sheriff Jared Barkley while his bride-to-be, Stacy McBride, shivers in a jail cell, accused of the crime.

Description: In this sequel to The Mountain Man's Dog, rustic forester Lehigh Carter fights to clear first his own name, then that of his fiancée, Stacy McBride, as they are accused of murdering the deputy who once made their lives miserable.

The murder of popular acting Sheriff Jared Barkley in Clarkesville, a small town in Oregon's Cascade Mountains, puts Lehigh and Stacy's plans to marry on hold when Stacy is arrested for committing the crime. On the advice of her lawyer, Stacy cuts off ties to Lehigh, who remains a subject of the investigation himself by the crooked cops and politicians running Mt. Hood County.

Lehigh's own lawyer, the smart, beautiful Samantha Pullen, works the legal angles to keep Lehigh out of jail, but he ignores her advice to keep a low profile and conducts his own investigation into the murder — putting himself in greater danger than he ever imagined.

A chance meeting with an old high school football teammate prompts Lehigh to visit the victim's grieving mother, who will only talk to one who has suffered the same way—Lehigh's own mother, who, in her advancing senile dementia, blames Lehigh for the death of his older brother when they were tykes. When the two women bond, Lehigh becomes privy to new information revealing a series of clandestine meetings between Jared and Stacy leading up to his death—meetings that look a lot like an ongoing secret love affair, rekindled from their youth.

As Lehigh continues his investigation, his doubts about Stacy's innocence multiply—particularly when she appears to make romantic overtures to her ex-fianceé, attorney Paul van Paten, a leading member of the conspiracy against Lehigh. Cooperating with the only honest cop he knows in the county, Detective "Gentleman Jim" Wadsworth, Lehigh plays a high-stakes game of legal chicken to infiltrate the conspiracy and discover the truth behind Jared Barkley's murder.

How to Raise a Good Kid by Starbuck O'Dwyer (Green Chair Publishing)

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by StarbuckODwyer (author): A smashwords coupon for How to Raise a Good Kid will be delivered to all winners promptly. Reviews on Goodreads, Amazon and Library Thing or the platform(s) of your choice are much appreciated. Please like my facebook page and follow me on Goodreads and Twitter for updates on new stories and books. Thank you very much.

Description: Named a 2012 Indie Reader Discovery Awards finalist (parenting) and a 2011 ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year finalist (both humor and essay categories), How to Raise a Good Kid is not a conventional "how-to" but rather a collection of 23 humorous and heartfelt stories about the challenges and joys of growing up for both parents and children. By way of background, Good Kid is the first in a series of two books with its sequel, High School Dance, having just been released. The origin of the two books is as follows:

How to Raise a Good Kid and High School Dance are the culmination of a project that began shortly after my wife and I welcomed our son to the world. Like most first-time fathers, I felt a new and profound sense of responsibility and immediately became determined to pass along every lesson I believed was important. So even though my pride and joy was only drooling, pooping and sleeping at this point, and was years away from absorbing his dad’s hard-earned wisdom, I refused to let any of those pesky details get in my way.

First, I made a list of the events of my childhood that taught me the most, the ones that made the biggest impressions, both good and bad. This exercise forced me to revisit many harrowing experiences such as batting zero in little league baseball, my chronic addiction to a blanket, my disastrously unsuccessful try-out for the role of Winthrop in The Music Man, and the time I mooned the entire sixth grade. I wanted to let my son know whatever hardship he might face; his father had already been there, learned something of value and survived. I also wanted to let him know about all the fun and joy I experienced as a child and the love my parents showed me.

After compiling my list, however, I realized it wasn’t going to be enough. What if, God forbid, I wasn’t around to tell him the full story behind each enumerated item? I couldn’t bear the thought so I decided to turn the list into a book of stories about my childhood. Over time, the project evolved into two books: one about my grade school years, How to Raise a Good Kid, and one about my junior and senior high school years, High School Dance.

Few times in life are more memorable than our school years. Humiliation, heartbreak and failure are abundant, and that’s on a good day. No matter who you are, coming of age is exciting, confusing and sometimes downright dangerous, and I’ve tried to capture both the agony and the ecstasy. My wife and I were fortunate enough to add a daughter to our family in the intervening years and my great hope is that she and her brother will someday read these stories, learn a few lessons, come to know their father even better, and above all, remember how much I love them.

Maestro pocero by Rodrigo Ratero (Editoral Gradiente)

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Likewise, nobody knows that addictions to philanthropy, cigarettes, and meaningless sex keep that switch in tip-top shape. In fact, the only person who truly knows me is Seth, my criminal of a brother who would do anything for me—except he just decided to jump off the cliffs at Beachy Head with no explanation.

Left alone to navigate Seth’s pre-planned series of notes and fix one of his deadliest mistakes, my ‘switch’ goes on the fritz. It doesn’t help that I wind up having to spend time with the neurotic girlfriend Seth conned. And well, she has a brother.

Galen Zabriese is nothing I can afford to be near and everything the world needs to be a better place—although he would certainly say differently on both counts. And for some reason, he sees right through me. He knows I’m hiding things. And no matter what I say or do, he can’t keep his hands off me....

As the Publisher of this book we are offering a free paperback copy to the winners. A review is requested but not required for entry.

The book can be purchased here: Amazon

Description: A definitive look at Biblical Salvation.

The ways of God are infinitely wise, yet man willingly confuses and makes ambiguous plain teachings of Scripture to suit his own destructive predilections. This is nowhere more evident than in the doctrine of Salvation. In this book God's Ways are proven to align with common sense. The subject is explained simply, understandably, and sensibly through elucidation of God’s Word.

Description and Market

Gertrude the goat and her best friend Toby the tortoise are adventurers. No sitting around on the boring farm for them! They love to explore, and every Friday they sneak off the farm for some extra fun. One Friday, Gertrude and Toby decide to visit the local candy store in town. They discover yummy goodies and treats, but soon find that the treats are not free!? Uh oh! The market owner grabs Toby. He demands money for the candy that Gertrude and Toby have taken by mistake. Gertrude must find a way to save her friend and get back home before Farmer Sam returns.

Book 1 in the Gertrude and Toby Fairy-Tale Adventure Series

GERTRUDE AND TOBY'S FRIDAY ADVENTURE is an exciting adventure story for children who are transitioning from beginning readers to chapter books. This is the perfect book for the child who has been tasked with the usual 30-minutes-per-night reading homework. From the standpoint of reading progression, this title fills a specific niche that represents a gap in the children's book market—longer illustrated children's books that are more complex and challenging than typical picture books.

GERTRUDE AND TOBY'S FRIDAY ADVENTURE Incorporates traditional fairy-tale characters (including Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White's evil stepmother, Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, the Gingerbread Man, and a frog princess) that will be immediately recognizable to many young readers. Their presence adds familiarity for young readers and keeps alive traditional tales (e.g., those by the Brothers Grimm) that we have all come to know and love.

Books 2 and 3 in the series follow the same approach of adapting fairy-tale tropes within in a contemporary setting. These modern stories have more complex plots and wording than those of standard picture books, but without the daunting word count of typical beginning chapter books.

We hope that you will love Gertrude and Toby and their series of adventure books as much as we do. Happy reading!

About the Author

Shari Tharp lives in Southern California with her husband and son.

She is a member of SCBWI and the International Literary Association.

In addition to writing, Shari enjoys playing chess, hiking, biking, and reading (of course!).

GERTRUDE AND TOBY'S FRIDAY ADVENTURE is the first title in a three-book adventure series that incorporates well-known fairy-tale characters. Books 2 and 3, GERTRUDE AND TOBY SAVE THE GINGERBREAD MAN and GERTRUDE AND TOBY MEET THE WOLF, were released in November and December 2016.

The Fight That Started the Movies by Samuel Hawley (Conquistador Press)

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by Samuel_Hawley (author): I’m the author of The Fight That Started the Movies. I’m holding this giveaway to connect with readers and get reviews for the book, both here on LibraryThing and on Amazon and Goodreads. If you like history that reads like a novel, give it a try! E-book copies will be emailed to winners in epub and mobi formats at the completion of the contest. PDF copies of the print version of the book will also be available on request.

Thanks for your interest, and I hope you enjoy it!

Description: THE FIGHT THAT STARTED THE MOVIES:
The World Heavyweight Championship, the Birth of Cinema and the First Feature Film

On March 17, 1897, in an open-air arena in Carson City, Jim Corbett and Bob Fitzsimmons fought for the heavyweight championship of the world. The contest was recorded by film pioneer Enoch Rector from inside an immense, human-powered camera called the “Veriscope,” the forgotten Neanderthal at the dawn of cinema history. Rector’s movie of the contest premiered in New York City two months later. Known today as “The Corbett-Fitzsimmons Fight,” it was the world’s first feature-length film.
The Fight That Started the Movies is the epic true story of Corbett’s and Fitzsimmons’ journey to that ring in Nevada and how the landmark film of their battle came to be made. Peopled with a colorful cast of characters, from inventors and fighters and big-talking promoters to visionary businessmen, meddling politicians and Wild West legends, it reveals how boxing played a key role in the birth of the movies, spurring the development of motion picture technology and pushing the concept of “film” from a twenty-second peephole show to a full-length attraction projected on a screen.

“Movie buffs and boxing buffs alike will relish this!”(Publishers Weekly)
”Written with a scholar’s attention to detail, yet thoroughly accessible to readers of all backgrounds...a ‘must-read’ for cinema history buffs. Highly recommended!”(Midwest Book Review)
“An extremely well-researched tale.”(Kirkus Reviews)

The Night of the Eleventh Sun by Steven Burgauer (Create Space)

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by Steven_Burgauer (author): Enter for a chance to win one of 40 e-copies of this exciting historical science fiction story. Recent reviews:
“A marvelous blend of fact and fiction. Much more could be said of this excellent piece of historical fiction, but suffice to say, it roundly deserves five stars for its unique ability to entertain as well as inform. You will never look upon the cavemen in museum dioramas in quite the same way again. Indeed, Burgauer’s vivid portrayal of day-to-day life back then — complete with bouts of anxiety, somnambulism, and even eroticism — make this novel breathe with an uncannily contemporary touch of reality.”
— Publishers Daily Reviews, December 15, 2016

4 stars out of 5
“ . . . the author has quite cleverly interweaved his narrative with a science lens to help us make sense of the Neanderthal’s actions . . . so the tag of science fiction/fantasy stands in this enjoyable tale.”
— December 9, 2016, “The Book Reviewers” Full Media Ltd. (UK)

5 stars out of 5
“Most refreshing story of this era. Shows the struggle to survive and how hard life changes the dynamics of a group. This has been far more entertaining than the Clan of the cave bear. This is one book I have already recommended to friends.”
— Allen Lawrence, GoodReads Reviewer, December 28, 2016

Description: The fossil record is unclear.
Did Neanderthal speak?
Did he laugh, have music, feel love?
Did he interact with Homo sapiens or get killed by him in mortal combat or get pushed to extinction on less marginal lands?
This book answers some of those questions in a carefully researched fictional setting.

Now meet Strong Arms, leader of the clan.
Predator species have spite hardwired into their behavior.
Killing the competition before it grows up is always a good genetic strategy for any meat-eater.
Now, take one that’s smart, adaptive, and a consummate tool-user, and you have the makings for a conflict of monumental proportions.
It’s man versus Neanderthal in the mountains of Iberia. Only one will survive. You may be surprised by which.

Culter Fuller came back into my life on the day my mother died, as if losing my mother wasn't bad enough.

When I moved to my dad's house to finish my last semester of high school, we went from bitter enemies to. . . something else. He was suddenly everywhere, occupying my space, determined to pull me into his life, filling me with thoughts I knew were wrong.

I knew that soon we would cross a line that should never be crossed.

I knew crossing that line could have very serious consequences; because Culter Fuller wasn't just any irresistible boy, Culter Fuller was my stepbrother.

But, I was always very bad at making the right choices.

Ardent Justice by Peter Taylor-Gooby (Troubador)

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by ptg (author): I'm afraid this is a PDF. I'd be very grateful for any reviews and I hope you enjoy the book

Description: Ade is a tax-inspector. She believes the money she raises pays for decent health service and adequate public services. She hates the City of London, the endless corruption, the bland assumption that tax is for the little people. She hates the casual sexism of people like Webster, the smug self-assurance, the inviolability of the men she deals with, and the cold certainty that nothing you can do will ever touch them.
She meets Paul, an Occupy activist who works with homeless people. As their love for each other grows, they find real fulfilment in fighting for the rights of ordinary people, such as Gemma, a homeless single parent. Then Webster comes back into Ade’s life and it’s payback time.
Ardent Justice is a gripping feminist thriller, endorsed by Polly Toynbee, the leading Guardian columnist. It tells the story of Ade’s struggle against the City and for her own integrity, and of her love for Paul, and of how hard it is to live a morally good life in a corrupted world. It has been inspired by Zoe Fairbairns and Lionel Shriver and will appeal to fans of character-led thrillers. Profits will be donated to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

“Good to find a novel with a strong social message about the way we live now”

Polly Toynbee, The Guardian

PETER TAYLOR-GOOBY is a leading sociologist with a strong international reputation. He has advised Lloyd’s of London, UK, European, Chinese and Korean government departments, the European Commission and the Prime Minister’s Office, and been awarded an OBE. He has written 33 academic books and two novels. He commented: ‘research may analyse our changing world, but it is our feelings that drive the way we live our lives. That is why I write novels.’

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by jetangen4571: Now it's YOUR turn to enjoy this book!
I have never read any of this author's books before, but I certainly will now. The premise is intriguing, the plot mobile, the characters engaging, the dialog great fun. The story reels you in while you just keep turning the pages. No spoilers, the publisher's blurb gives hints and clues but can't begin to prepare you for all the laughs and creativity. An excellent read, and I highly recommend it!
I did enter and win a giveaway in which the book was provided by the publisher in expectation of a review.

Description: New York Times bestselling author Beatriz Williams recreates the New York City of A Certain Age in this deliciously spicy adventure that mixes past and present and centers on a Jazz Age love triangle involving a rugged Prohibition agent, a saucy redheaded flapper, and a debonair Princetonian from a wealthy family.
When she discovers her husband cheating, Ella Hawthorne impulsively moves out of their SoHo loft and into a small apartment in an old Greenwich Village building. Her surprisingly attractive new neighbor, Hector, warns her to stay out of the basement at night. Tenants have reported strange noises after midnight—laughter, clinking glasses, jazz piano—even though the space has been empty for decades. Back in the Roaring Twenties, the place hid a speakeasy.
In 1924, Geneva "Gin" Kelly, a smart-mouthed flapper from the hills of western Maryland, is a regular at this Village hideaway known as the Christopher Club. Caught up in a raid, Gin becomes entangled with Prohibition enforcement agent Oliver Anson, who persuades her to help him catch her stepfather Duke Kelly, one of Appalachia’s most notorious bootleggers.
Headstrong and independent, Gin is no weak-kneed fool. So how can she be falling in love with the taciturn, straight-arrow Revenue agent when she’s got Princeton boy Billy Marshall, the dashing son of society doyenne Theresa Marshall, begging to make an honest woman of her? While anything goes in the Roaring Twenties, Gin’s adventures will shake proper Manhattan society to its foundations, exposing secrets that shock even this free-spirited redhead—secrets that will echo from Park Avenue to the hollers of her Southern hometown.
As Ella discovers more about the basement speakeasy, she becomes inspired by the spirit of her exuberant predecessor, and decides to live with abandon in the wicked city too. . . .

Relica Enchanted Volume I by Maryanne Johnson

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by maryannecampbell (author): Author is seeking reviews and promoting for Relica Enchanted Volume II 2017 release. E-book will come in pdf file format.

Description: Relica Enchanted is a novella series still in the works, whose premise may still need unwrapping, however it is the author’s first attempt at fiction writing, in which she fuses erotica, romance, horror, action and adventure and sci-fi or fantasy together to outline the story of a young woman who falls in love with someone who turns her whole world inside out, causing her to seek vengeance and new meaning in life and lending her to fall into the arms of another who like her, is on the same page as far as the new and horrific reality he must contend with as well, all the while, falling into a witch’s clutches, who has plans beyond what anyone could have imagined. Infused with humor, wit, and lavishness, Relica Enchanted, Volume I is both poetic and engaging and pays homage to some of the author’s favorite, inspiring legendary writers: Zora Neale Hurston, Terry McMillan and Toni Morrison, but in effect exposes her own unique voice as well. Mature audiences only (sexual content, violence, language).

Volume II is in the works and even more elaborate and colorful then the first, but takes on a completely different style in writing, to premier this year in 2017.

Living in Italy: the Real Deal by Stef Smulders (Babelcube)

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Offered by stef7sa (author): The book has had very good reviews till now, so take this chance! I very much need reviews, so if you can help me out, please!

Review
Reader's Favorite Five Stars Review ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Stef Smulders' Living in Italy: The Real Deal is a thoroughly entertaining read and a unique introduction to 'the Italian way'!
The book is a comical, often downright hilarious account of the setbacks and unforeseen obstacles Stef and Nico encounter while they navigate through the endless red tape of the stressful Italian bureaucracy and become acquainted with the Italian lifestyle.

Blogcricics and ReaderViews Five Stars Review ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Crisp, concise chapters take the form of short stories and weavetogether seamlessly to create a whimsical, light-hearted, and refreshing memoire of the author's complete Italian experience.
The characters are delightful and I laughedaloud throughout the reading at some of the obvious stereotypicalcharacteristics of Italians, like the obsession with their health, theirfashion sense, and the overall chaos that surrounds the average person.

Description: In 2008 Stef Smulders, his partner Nico and their dog Saar emigrated to Italy to start a new life and set up their B&B Villa I Due Padroni. They sold their home, left their friends and family behind and took a leap into the unknown. Now Stef shares his experiences in a collection of witty short stories. The book treats the trials and tribulations of an emigration: what it was like to buy and renovate a house, to import a car, to gain residency, and much more.
The reader is introduced to a full range of Italian characters, from the trustworthy to the rogue, from the gentle to the shameless, flesh and blood Italians. Some are stereotype, others unexpectedly original. Yet they never fail to amuse and entertain.
'Italians and their ways. . . Trouble and strife are guaranteed when you decide to live amongst them. But Stef is undaunted. He manages to turn his Italian adversity into entertaining stories, warming the readers' hearts to the charms of 'la vita Italiana.' Saskia Balmaekers - Italy expert at Ciaotutti.nl
Readers' reviews:
“I was hooked after the first couple of lines and couldn't put the book down until the end.”
“What a fantastic read!” “Hilarious!" "Addicting!" "Recommended!"

Something (Wisteria 1) by Shelby Lamb (Grunge Bookz)

This book is an eBook, not a physical book.

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by Shelby-Lamb-Author (publisher): Enter for a chance to receive an advanced, digital, review copy of the horror book that's getting all the buzz, on any platform: Kindle, PDF, Epub.

BONUS GIFT: If you post an honest review on LibraryThing, Goodreads, and Amazon before March 7th, you will be entitled to receive an advanced, signed copy of the next book in the series!

Description: “I will find true love and everything will be okay. I will find true love and everything will be okay…” she chanted.

They say be careful what you read. Something is wrong. Something is very wrong. It can happen to anyone. This is just four teenagers’ story. Aubrey Golding hates her face, her body, and is devastated after Nathan Silva leaves her. Alone, suicidal, and desperate for love, she discovers a book called Something and unknowingly links others to a dark and terrifying curse that is beginning to consume her. Nathan is glad to be moving on with someone new and can hardly believe what is happening now. Wild child and amateur porn star, Bella Broadhurst, loves bullying that “emo whore” Aubrey with the other girls, but mostly she loves partying, hookups, and plain ol’ drama when terror arises. And Kendra Coke is just a new teen mother working on a delicate relationship when things start becoming utterly bizarre. Chilling sleep disturbances and figures hiding in the corners of their rooms are just warnings of what is to come. Be careful what you read, they say. Tread carefully.

Editorial Review:

Something (Wisteria 1) is a New Adult fiction novel in the horror, fantasy, and mystery genres. It takes dark humor, good writing, and frightening and controversial subject matter to give a unique twist on its chosen categories. The nail-biting idea of a curse being spread by reading a book will make readers feel a part of the story, and more connected to the diverse and interesting characters, including a young woman diving head-first into the adult industry and a wholesome mamma's boy named Nathan Silva. I found it to be a very exciting concept that is reminiscent of the 2012 popular American horror film, The Ring. Aubrey Golding, who is at the center of this story, is a self-harmer who fantasizes about suicide. She dabbles in drugs, alcohol, and risky sex. While she manages to inadvertently spread the curse around like an STD, she is hell-bent on winning back her love interest, Nathan, who is shagging her best friend behind her back. I just could not put down this book. -Kathlean Thomas from Grunge Bookz PR

Description: Trailer: http://youtu.be/2VfYxsHNlhc

This is the story of a lonely kid who develops a computer game, using what little of quantum physics that he has read, that renders game levels from maps of any format; the result is just a little too realistic. When he tries to combine this "World of Shawn" with a favorite game of his childhood, "World of One," he soon finds Worlds colliding, to the detriment of his friends. Shawn must step up and rectify things, rescue the princess and save the World.

The interaction and constant dialogue between the characters in this story, as well as the humor and action intertwined, have drawn comparison to that in such works as "The Lord of the Rings," "Harry Potter," and "Narnia," so if a reader has an interest in any of those, as well as an interest in computer programming or video games, either in the past or the present, it would be a safe bet that they would enjoy getting to know Shawn and his World!

Feversong by Karen Marie Moning (Random House)

Offered by RandomHouse (publisher): Enter to win a hardcover copy of Feversong by Karen Marie Moning!

Description: MacKayla Lane and Jericho Barrons return in the epic conclusion to the pulse-pounding Fever series, where a world thrown into chaos grows more treacherous at every turn.

As Mac, Barrons, Ryodan, and Jada struggle to restore control, enemies become allies, right and wrong cease to exist, and the lines between life and death, lust and love, disappear completely. Black holes loom menacingly over Dublin, threatening to destroy the earth, yet the greatest danger is the one MacKayla Lane has unleashed from within: The Sinsar Dubh—a sentient book of unthinkable evil—has possessed her body and will stop at nothing in its insatiable quest for power.

The fate of Man and Fae rests on destroying the book and recovering the long-lost Song of Making, the sole magic that can repair the fragile fabric of the earth. But to achieve these aims, sidhe-seers, the Nine, Seelie, and Unseelie must form unlikely alliances and make heart-wrenching choices. For Barrons and Jada, this means finding the Seelie queen, who alone can wield the mysterious song, negotiating with a lethal Unseelie prince hell-bent on ruling the Fae courts, and figuring out how to destroy the Sinsar Dubh while keeping Mac alive.

This time, there’s no gain without sacrifice, no pursuit without risk, no victory without irrevocable loss. In the battle for Mac’s soul, every decision exacts a tremendous price.

“Two things are staying with me after this wonderful read. What are we willing, as individual, to do to gain some money to live our dream? and do we really want to stay in [a] culture that has made a cult of physical perfection? A brilliant story and a must read.” ~The Jeep Diva

Kelemun was bought from his peasant parents to tend the inner sanctum of the house of Aknon, where wealthy men pay mountain sapphires to behold the beautiful servants of the god. Chosen to bring offerings to Caliph, Kelemun captures the fascination of the young prince Praxtor who has never been denied anything his heart desires.

Ja’bar was hired to roughhouse wayward proselytes for the high priest Aknon-Horheb. In Qabbat’lee, it’s good paying work for a Stripeling, a jungle savage in the eyes of the city natives, and if he’s stingy and stays out of trouble, it will buy him a plot of river land.

But the splendor of Qabbat’lee is a mirage disguising a grotesquerie of corruption. When Kelemun and Ja’bar’s threads of fate entwine on a night of chilling betrayal, their only hope for redemption and survival may lie in one another.

Description: A woman's life should not be defined by what is enough.

Jamie Conway has a charmed life. At 24, he's relocated from Dublin to London to star in his first feature film. Unfortunately, he also has one very big problem: He has a huge crush on his happily married costar.

British heartthrob to middle-aged women everywhere, Callum Griffith-Davies should have more sense than to flirt with his new-to-the-business colleague, but good judgement isn't one of the qualities for which he's known.

Nerea Espinosa de Los Monteros Nessim has better things to do than fret about her husband's newest conquest. She’s busy planning her daughter's wedding at the family's farmhouse in rural Spain. Besides, she and Callum have been married and polyamorous for almost 30 years; she's content to let him make his own bad choices.

But when Nerea flies to London after her artwork is selected for a high-profile museum show, she falls for Jamie too. Soon Callum, Jamie, and Nerea have bigger problems, and surprises, than international logistics. From ex-lovers and nosy neighbors to adult children with dramas of their own, The Art of Three is a contemporary romance that celebrates families, and farce, in all shapes and sizes.

finally now by Stephen Teso (CreateSpace)

Recipient is asked to provide a review in exchange for this book.

Offered by knomad (author): Giveaway for those who have an interest and who are able to provide a review.

Description: Some poems resulted from the spark created by the rub of my senses against the sensuous world. Or they came from the slow drip of words precipitating out of an inner storm. Or from long periods of silent incubation while the earth turned and I grew older.

Words cross pollinate within these poems and across these poems, non-linear and self-reflexive. The form of the poem may re-present the pattern of my thinking, the shape of the content, or a random distribution strewn across the page.

Sometimes the poems leap for the throat. Sometimes they sit silently and breathe very slowly.

Some are extended koans entangling reader and poet in an intimate single self-aware moment. Some simply those words that have chosen this time to meet you and to exchange a whisper or two.

I don’t know what they are. I wrote them. They wrote me. They offered themselves. I accepted them. Perhaps you will do the same.

"...plenty of gritty action throughout, with some engaging and well-rounded characters... The author weaves a grand conspiracy...Throughout the book there is a grim sense of impending doom, exacerbated by a stealthy, and darkening government response." - Andy Lloyd, author of Ezekiel One

Jubilee Year is Book One of the Erelong Trilogy

Description: What if the world was about to end, but they weren't going to tell you?

It approaches us at shocking speed from below the tilt of Earth's orbital plane. Unseen, even by astronomers who are directed to focus their telescopes on other corners of the universe.

The collapsed star is tiny and yet has a mass far greater than Jupiter's, bending light so that like a black hole it is almost invisible. The binary twin to our sun is on its way home and with it, the dark star brings great change and catastrophe. They will give no warning.

In Australia, in a small New South Wales country town is one of the most famous telescopes in the world. When eighteen-year-old Storm falls for Penny, the daughter of the chief scientist at the observatory, he discovers a global conspiracy of silence.

Storm learns a mini-star system approaches Earth, and the penalty for any scientist who talks about it is death. Storm and his companions must stay ahead of the government security forces, the assassination squads working for powerful hidden entities, and internment in one of the many camps for dissenters.

He must accept help when it's offered, but others are not always who they seem, and neither is the world he thought he once knew.
