Cook Book Collectors

This group has become officially dormant. It happens. If you want to revive this group, or create a new group on the same topic see this page.

I'm so surprised that I haven't found a group dedicated to those who buy, use, collect, ogle and covet cook books.

So here it is. Your place to write about your cook book collection.

What's in it, where did you find them, anything rare and special?

While I own many, many cook books, I rarely follow a recipe. The only exception is baking, where I think you need to be precise with measurements, but you can vary the ingredients some.

I use recipes as inspiration. I read the stories, enjoy the photos. Rarely is there a cook book I own where I would re-create more than a few of its recipes. There are some, and these are the books which I think need special mention.

I just like having cook books around. They're nice.
