History: On learning from and writing history

This group has become officially dormant. It happens. If you want to revive this group, or create a new group on the same topic see this page.

Each written history has its own viewpoint, but which is correct and why?

Is it the big men that make the big movements of history or the other way around?

Are those who don't learn from history really condemned to repeat it?

Lots of questions but are there answers?

Discussions should be conducted without fondness for dispute or desire for victory -Ben Franklin
