Advertisement text (note that Rutledge's library was sold along with several others): "TO BE SOLD at Auction, At the House in Elliotts street facing Bedon's Alley, By ROBERT WELLS, Bookseller and Auctioneer, On Friday the 29th Instant and the following Days, A small, but very curious and valuable Collections of BOOKS, Divinity, Law, History, Mathematics, classical Learning, Politics, Amusement &c. &c. Among which are the entire LIBRARY of that learned and able Lawyer, the late Honourable Andrew Rutledge, Esq; deceas'd. Also the Libraries of A late Rev. Clergyman deceased, And of Several Gentlemen about to depart this Province: With a great many Maps, Prints, &c. &c. The rules of auction will (as in all Mr. Wells's former auctions of books) be inviolably observed. Time of sale from 6 to 8 at night. Catalogues of each evening's sale will be distributed as usual."
