Newcomer's Book Club: An ELL Discussion Group
Rochester Hills Public Library, Thursday, October 2 at 10am
If you are new to this country and want to improve your English Language skills, then join this fun discussion group. At each session, the participants will read and discuss poems and short stories written in English. Together they will improve and enhance their English literacy skills while sharing traditions and cultures that celebrate our diversity. The discussions sessions are led by Dr. Elana Izraeli, who has years of experience educating both teachers and students of English.

Celebrate World Smile Day by sharing a joke with others, picking up new jokes, and making your own joke book. Everyone attending the program will send us a favorite joke in advance. We’ll print copies of all the jokes for everyone. At the program, you’ll decorate a book to put them in, perform your joke (if you want to), and listen to other people perform their jokes. Online registration begins September 12. Please send one joke per child for our joke book to jan.purdy@rhpl.org BY SEPTEMBER 24. Please include your name and phone number with your joke.
