Retired Braves Player Chipper Jones – April 8, 5:00PM – presented by Gwinnett Library
Coolray Field, Saturday, April 8 at 5pm
Chipper Jones spent his entire 19 year MLB career playing for the Atlanta Braves and all 23 years as a professional baseball player in the Braves organization. He is an eight-time All-Star and the 1999 National League MVP. Retired in 2012, Chipper remains one of the greatest switch-hitters in baseball history. In Ballplayer, he shares his remarkable story, while capturing the magic nostalgia that sets baseball apart from every other sport.

Gwinnett County Public Library will host retired Braves player Chipper Jones on Saturday, April 8 at 5:00pm at Coolray Field, 2500 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville, GA 30043. Tickets to the Gwinnett Braves’ April 8 game vs. Durham (at 6:05pm) must be purchased to access the book signing. To get a signed copy of Ballplayer, attendees must purchase the book from Eagle Eye Book Shop. You may reserve a copy now, or Ballplayer will be available for purchase at the store or through their website, www.eagleeyebooks.com, on April 4. Due to time constraints, Chipper will not sign memorabilia at this event.

Discussion: Politics in Georgia –April 23, 3:00PM – presented by Gwinnett Library
Join Gwinnett County Public Library for coffee, questions, and a fascinating discussion on the changing face of Georgia and Gwinnett politics and the recent election. Professor of political science at Georgia State University, Dr. Robert M. Howard, will be leading this seminar. Along with being a professor, Dr. Howard is the Executive Director of the Southern Political Science Association and co-author of the latest edition of Politics in Georgia.
