Join Gwinnett County Public Library for a conversation with authors Lori Rader-Day and Roger Johns!

Rader-Day is a one-time winning and three-time nominated Mary Higgins Clark Award author. Her novels include The Black Hour (Anthony Award for Best First Novel), Little Pretty Things (Mary Higgins Clark Award), The Day I Died (an Indie Next Pick), and her latest, Under a Dark Sky. Johns is the author of the Wallace Hartman Mysteries, Dark River Rising and River of Secrets, and a 2018 Georgia Author of the Year winner. Rader-Day and Johns are both active members in the Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime.

Nic Stone, Author at North Georgia Teens Read
Nic Stone was born and raised in a suburb of Atlanta. After graduating from Spelman College, she worked extensively in teen mentoring. Growing up with a wide range of cultures, religions, and backgrounds, Stone brings diverse voices and stories to her work. Booklist has given her first novel, Dear Martin, a starred review calling it, “vivid and powerful.” The length and pace of Dear Martin make it a perfect read for reluctant and sophisticated readers alike.

A Night of Brews and Books
Slow Pour Brewing Company, Tuesday, October 23 at 7pm
Join artisanal beer aficionados and authors Ron Smith and Mary O. Boyle for a beer and book talk. Follow the journey of beer through Atlanta’s development and celebrate the resurgence of craft beer. Writers’ Workshop with Lisa Lowe Stauffer
Lisa Lowe Stauffer is the author of the picture book Two by Two. This class is a hands-on wordsmith workshop for kidlit writers who are particularly interested in picture books (but it’s great for ANY writer). Bring the first and last pages of your book or novel (up to 400 words total). She’ll discuss new ways to look at words, and then break everyone into small groups to put it into practice.

This Writers’ Workshop will take place on Saturday, October 27 at 1:00 pm at Gwinnett Library’s Five Forks Branch, 2780 Five Forks Trickum Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044. Free and open to the public.
